A crafty weekend with the girls

What's one of the best ways you can imagine to spend an entire weekend?? How about on the coast, at a stunning beach house with some of your best friends doing crafts all weekend!! Best part.... no need to pack up till Sunday eve! Ahhhh it was bliss!

I had a full 2 days of sewing & made loads of little 'things', but loved every minute of it!!

Here's some shots of the completed projects .. my goad this weekend was to practice putting in zippers.... they are always harder then they should be =)

Coin purse:

Sadly I forgot to take a photo of the other zipper I put in - it was a 'large pencil' case or could be used as a laptop case or make up bag.... I told the girls it was my lollie bag for convention! ha! =)

Next project was 2 over the shoulder bags - just for casual days at the market (maybe) =)

And finally I made another apron for a VERY special person in my life.... =) It now needs to make it's way to the post office so it can get shipped away! xx

We've already decided on another craft weekend in September - we had so much fun that we thought it was worthwhile to pencil in the next date early! =)

Getting organised!

It rained all weekend here - so along with making cute laundry & shoe bags I also did some long overdue organising! I went from 4 different bags of stuff all jumbled together, to one very organised box! =)

Using up scraps

This past weekend I decided to use of some scraps of material I loved but didn't really have enough of it to make something big or follow most patterns I have. When Krista was visiting us she had this cute little cloth laundry bag and I thought it was such a great idea for travelling. Soooo I copied it + made two smaller ones for shoes!

Here is the dirty clothes bag - I think I'll make some more, and make them slightly larger next time. This one won't fit much more than a weekends worth of dirty clothes.

I love the function on my machine where you can create & sew cheeky sayings for stuff!!

This is what the shoe bag turned out like! I love them... thankfully I had enough fabric to make two! =) This ribbon I used is one of my favourites, but haven't had anything to put it with just yet.

Until my next creative moment in life =)
